Kit crate delivery, arrival and inventory

The crate my CH-701 complete kit arrived in was delivered by Roadway Express to their facility in Deer Park, Long Island NY. I rented the trailer seen below for about $60, picked the crate up and pulled it home using my pickup. The local delivery from the facility in Deer Park to my home would have been around $300 and I would have had to provide a way to get the crate off. This seemed to be the best idea at the time, and it did work out very well. I just emptied the crate while still on the trailer and laid everything out in the garage. I had the trailer for 24 hrs but it only took about 2 hrs to empty it and had the trailer back the same day.

Thanks to Karla and Kelly for helping get all the stuff out. It was actually fun but hard to believe this was all going to become an airplane. It really didn't seem like enough pieces.

This damage was done to the bottom of the crate by a forklift. A fuselage side skin which was laying flat on the bottom of the crate wrapped in brown paper was slightly dented. It was replaced by Zenith. Many of the large skins for the rear fuselage and wings are wrapped and laid on the bottom. Everything else is set on top of them. That was the only damaged part.
